But, How can you write blog posts that your readers will actually love to read?
In this post, I will give you some powerful tips which you can use to write blog posts that your readers will love to read.
Think about yourself. Why do you read a blog post?
If you can think deeply, you will find many reasons to read a blog post. If you summarize them that will be like follow –
- You have a problem related to the post topic
- You have somehow (on your social profile or on feed reader) found a post that entices you to read the post
- You love the writing style of the writer
So, if you want your readers to love your blog posts, your post should have one of the above things.
Now, let’s see how can you write a blog post that your readers will actually love to read.
How to Write Blog Posts That Your Readers Will Love to Read
If your blog posts have one of the following things, your readers will love to read those posts.
- Solution of a problem
- Ability to entice readers
- You have a unique writing style.
1. Solution of a Problem
If a blog post can solve your readers’ problem, they will love to read the post. In that case, you need to find out the problem your readers are facing.
So, how can you find your readers’ problem?
There are many ways to find your readers’ problem. I’ve given some of them below –
If you want to find a solution online for your problem, what do you do?
I can definitely say, you will search it on Google. The same thing happens to your readers too. If your readers want solutions for their problem they search it on Google.
So, the easiest way to find your readers’ problem is to find out what your readers are searching on google related to your blogging niche.
We call it Keywords. When your reader’s search on Google, they use some keywords to find the topic.
You just need to find out the most searched keyword relevant to your blogging niche.
How can you find most searched keywords on google?
There are many tools available on the web to find popular keywords. The Google keyword planner tool is one of the popular keyword research tools and it is free.
You can use google keyword planner tool to find popular keywords related to your blog topic.
I’ve talked about how to use Google keyword planner tool in details before.
Another effective way to find your readers’ problem is to find out what your readers are reading and sharing on the web.
To find out this, you need to make a list of some popular blogs related to your blogging niche.
Once you have finished making a list go to Buzzsumo.
Buzzsumo is a premium tool, you can use this tool for free to find out what your readers are sharing from other blogs.
Once you are on Buzzsumo, enter a popular blog’s URL into the search box then hit enter.
It will show you most shared posts on the blog you have searched for like the image below.
Once you found the most shared post on a blog related to your blogging niche, you can now write a better post on the same topic. If your readers loved to read and share the post on some other blog, they definitely will love to read the post on your blog too.
Facebook groups are nice places to share and get ideas from similar minded people.
If you’re blogging for some time, you might have joined some Facebook groups.
Spend some time with those groups to find the problems readers are asking for a solution.
If you find one, you can now start writing a blog post based on that problem. If you can solve the problem in your blog post, your readers will love to read the post.
There are many ways to find your readers problem. Such as look into blogs comment section – either your blog or someone’s blog. You just need to find out your readers’ problem and write a details post to solve that problem. If you can do this properly your readers will love to read the post.
2. Ability to Entice Readers
It is not that we always read something to solve our problem. Sometimes we read to get informed or simply for entertaining purpose.
Think about a newspaper. Why we read the newspaper every day.
It is not that we want a solution for our problem from the newspaper. We just want to know what is happening in the world right now. That is, we want to get informed.
You may notice we don’t read all the news in a newspaper. We just read some news which entices us to read that.
So if you want your readers to read your post, you need to make your post enticing.
Let’s see how can you make a blog post enticing.
When we read newspapers, the first thing we read is the headline of news. If any headline attracts us then we read the news.
The same is true for a blog post title. The first thing we read is the title of a blog post. If the title entices us then we click on it and start to read the post.
So how to make your post title enticing?
I’ve written a post before on how to make a post title enticing. Read the post to get the idea.
How many times have you found yourself that you start to read a news and after reading two-three lines you just stop reading?
If your post title can entice your readers they may click on it and land on your post introduction.
But if your post introduction isn’t immediately clear to them or can’t attract them they will leave the post without reading it.
So, your post introduction should have something that your readers will want to read the rest of the post.
But, how can you write a post introduction that way?
I’ve talked about this before on How to write a post introduction that your readers can’t resist to read the rest of the post.
Format Your Post:
After writing an enticing post title and a post introduction, your readers may want to read the post. But if they don’t enjoy reading the post they won’t love to read the post.
To make your blog posts enjoyable to read, format that. A well-formatted post is always enjoyable to read.
To make a blog post enjoyable to read, do the followings –
- Use easy words and simple sentence
- Make post paragraphs short
- Divide post body using headings and subheadings.
- Use images within post body
- Make important sentences in bold or italic
- Use bullet points within your post
3. Find Your Unique Writing Voice
I have some favorite writers. Whatever they write I just love to read their craft.
One of my favorite writers is Leo Babauta of ZenHabits. Whatever he writes I just love to read them.
I think you also have some favorite writers whose books you love to read.
It is not that their writing is super informational or valuable. It is not that their writing instantly solves our problems. It is that they have their unique writing voice.
When it comes to unique writing voice, keep in mind that you are you. No one in the world is like you. So whatever you write just don’t try to copy other’s writing voice. Just write in your own voice. That’s the unique writing voice of you.
So, how can you find your own unique writing voice?
In a short post, Jeff Goins writes about this. Read his post – 10 steps to find your writing voice.
Although I have written a post on “How to write blog posts that readers love to read”, it is not always easy to write that kind of posts for me, even for experts.
It takes a lot of practice.
So, to write a reader-loving post, I try to find and solve my reader’s problem, optimize my post title and post introduction, format my posts to make it easily digestible, and try to write my post as I discuss something with my friends.
So keeping these points in mind, practice writing, you will be able to write reader-loving post gradually.
